The Client:
The Point of Care Marketing Association (POCMA) is the leading industry association supporting healthcare marketers, agencies, and organizations within the Point of Care (POC) channel. Members include leaders across pharmaceutical, healthcare, technology, media, and marketing sectors.
For the second time, POCMA partnered with Sequence Events to produce the POCMA NOW Summit, an annual gathering designed to bring together Point of Care professionals to connect, learn, and explore important industry topics and conversations. Held at Pier Sixty in New York City, the 2026 event welcomed more than 400 attendees, featured 34 speakers and 22 sponsors, and centered around the theme "Pathways to Care."
The Challenge:
As the POCMA NOW Summit continues to grow, the team identified three primary goals:

Create a more dynamic and engaging attendee experience

Reimagine the sponsorship program to deliver greater value for both partners and attendees

Further position the POCMA NOW Summit as the premier event in the Point of Care industry
Because sponsorships are deeply integrated throughout the event experience—with everything from activations to attendee touchpoints requiring sponsor coordination—POCMA needed a partner capable of managing dozens of stakeholder relationships while ensuring every sponsor activation aligned with the broader attendee experience.
The Solution:
Sequence began the engagement with our proprietary Discovery Process, conducting stakeholder interviews, surveys, and strategic planning sessions with POCMA leadership and board members. These conversations helped identify opportunities to enhance both the attendee journey and sponsor experience while creating a cohesive theme that could unite the entire event.
The resulting concept, "Pathways to Care," positioned the summit as a guided journey through the evolving healthcare landscape. Inspired by the patient experience, the theme explored ideas of progress, connection, and purposeful movement through Point of Care marketing and patient engagement.
The creative approach came to life through journey-inspired design elements woven throughout the event environment. Map graphics, directional wayfinding, pathway lines, and navigation-inspired signage reinforced the concept of movement and discovery. Floor and wall graphics guided attendees through the venue, while checkpoint-inspired displays and approachable healthcare-themed illustrations transformed the space into an immersive extension of the event's central theme.

Custom-designed sponsor activations that encouraged meaningful engagement between attendees and partners

The POC Excellence Awards celebrating innovation and achievement across the industry

A cocktail reception that fostered continued conversations and relationship building
A major focus was the creation of the sponsor activation experience. We developed a “Pathways to Care” passport, encouraging attendees to visit and engage with the activations. Attendees collected stamps in their passports as they interacted with sponsors, and completed passports were entered into a raffle drawing to win a prize.
Behind the scenes, Sequence managed the full spectrum of creative development, production, and logistics, from initial concepting and environmental design through AV, fabrication, speaker and sponsor management, and on-site execution.
The Results:
The 2026 POCMA NOW Summit successfully brought together hundreds of industry leaders for a day of education, networking, and industry celebration. With 34 speakers and 22 sponsors, the experience delivered high-quality content while creating meaningful opportunities for attendees and partners to connect.

Planning is already underway for POCMA NOW 2027, building on the momentum of this year's event. Following the summit's success, POCMA has also expanded its partnership with Sequence Events to include production support for POCMA's Candid Conversations, a roundtable discussion and networking event series.
