The Client:
Eventus, a global trade surveillance and market risk solutions provider, recently partnered with Sequence Events to launch the inaugural FORWARD conference. The experience was an exclusive invite-only event bringing together senior leaders across business, regulatory, and technology sectors.
Held at SECOND in New York, the one-day conference welcomed 150+ attendees and featured 14 speakers, with a guest list curated to prioritize senior decision-makers, existing clients, and select new prospects.
FORWARD was designed as more than a one-time event. Eventus saw it as the foundation for developing an annual conference series with potential for global expansion.
The Challenge:
As a first-time event of this scale, FORWARD came with high expectations—as it should! Eventus wanted the conference to reinforce the company as a thought leader while strengthening client relationships and furthering new business opportunities. The focus wasn’t simply attendance numbers, but ensuring the room was filled with the right people.
The team also wanted the event to feel exclusive and highly engaging, and balance a content-focused agenda with networking and audience participation.
From a branding perspective, Eventus wanted the experience to feel connected to the company’s existing identity while still creating a fresh look unique to FORWARD.
The Solution:
Sequence partnered closely with Eventus to guide both the strategic and logistical planning of the event. Our team pitched the name and developed a dedicated FORWARD sub-brand that built on Eventus’ existing visual identity while giving the event its own presence. The design incorporated the company’s established color palette, typography, and branding elements in a way that felt modern and cohesive.
Environmental branding included marquee signage, branded column wraps, directional signage, bar graphics, and more. Reception tables featured illuminated acrylic menus and florals in visually-aligned vessels, while the program space included notebooks, water bottles, low-profile florals, and dark navy linens that supported both comfort and conversation.
For the stage design, Sequence created a clean scenic environment centered around a seamless SEG fabric backdrop with full-scale event branding and a custom 3D circle installation with LED lighting.
Beyond design, Sequence helped shape the flow of the day, working closely with our main contacts to balance content, networking, and audience engagement to keep the experience dynamic without feeling overwhelming. The team also provided hands-on support throughout the planning process, helping the client feel confident navigating a larger-scale live event for the first time.
The Results:
FORWARD successfully delivered on Eventus’ goals. The invite-only approach resulted in a highly curated audience of business, regulatory, and technology leaders, while hitting attendance targets and maintaining a strong concentration of senior decision-makers.
The event generated immediate business impact. Following a prediction markets demo presented during FORWARD, Eventus secured a major opportunity with an incredibly valuable client prospect.
Attendee feedback was equally strong, with survey respondents rating the event 5 out of 5 stars across the board.
The conference also boosted Eventus’ digital visibility and engagement. In the 30 days surrounding the event, LinkedIn impressions increased by 680%, reactions rose 91%, comments increased 166%, and reposts climbed 35%. The company also gained 71 new followers, while a LinkedIn post tied to the event generated more than 10,000 impressions. The day after the event, organic impressions spiked an additional 39%.
The Kind Words:
“The event was an 11 out of 10. The preparation leading to the event, the teamwork, the day-of coordination, the calm reaction when I changed the swag location after it was already set out, the seamlessness of the event itself, the incredible setup and design, the attention to every detail, and the calmness with which it all happened—it was all spectacular. I would repeat this event with you all in a heartbeat.”
