Fall Internships

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:


  • Flexible Duration: Typically 3 months, with flexibility for 2–4 months depending on availability. We welcome both students and non-students, as long as the commitment is a minimum of 2–3 months.
  • Students: We are happy to work with academic advisors to support internships for credit.
  • Stipend: Interns receive a stipend, adjusted based on full-time (5 days a week) vs. part-time (3 days a week) participation. The stipend is usually $1000 a month (full time) or $500 a month (part time.
  • Travel Support: A monthly travel stipend is provided to help offset commuting costs. For certain roles, remote participation is accepted.
  • On-Site Compensation: Any on-site work outside of the standard intern schedule is paid at $25/hour.
  • No Out-of-Pocket Costs: Interns will not incur personal expenses in order to participate in the program.
  • Office Perks: Snacks in the office and food provided during on-site events.
  • Mentorship & Experience: Opportunities for mentorship, hands-on experience, and close collaboration with the Sequence team.


ABOUT CANDIDATES:


We are looking for in-person interns for the upcoming season! Exciting opportunities await as we tackle in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, and are eager for you to join our team and help us get there.


We currently have multiple internships available in full-time and part-time formats:

  • Marketing
  • Creative (Strategy and Design)
  • Business Development
  • Operations

As part of our internship program, each intern will have weekly 1:1 meetings with their department head to provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CREATIVE STRATEGY INTERN MAY INCLUDE:

 

  • Support development of event concepts, themes, and narratives across projects and RFPs
  • Research market trends, brands, and audiences to guide creative proposals and project ideation
  • Analyze research and survey data to identify insights and opportunities
  • Format and support design of presentations in Sequence or client formats to clearly communicate creative ideas
  • Support creative operations through tracker updates, file organization, and cross-team coordination
  • Join us onsite at events for live assistance on projects!
  • Contribute to the team dynamic by exploring what’s cool and keeping us up to speed on the hottest trends in the industry!
  • Working knowledge of G-Suite especially Slides and Sheets
  • Please note: The Creative team may have projects or events that extend into later hours, particularly during live events or proposal deadlines. We remain mindful of balancing schedules within a 40-hour work week, and additional hours may be compensated if needed!


RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CREATIVE DESIGN INTERN MAY INCLUDE:

 

  • Develop moodboards, visual references and presentation layouts that express creative event concepts in Sequence and/or client formats
  • Translate brand guidelines, event strategy, and cultural insights/trends into design ideas and elements that bring concepts to life
  • Support designers and producers by tracking feedback and organizing assets across deliverables
  • Assist with editing photos, creating custom mockups, and preparing presentation visuals
  • Assist with prepping, organizing, and handing off design files and deliverables for production and fabrication
  • Collaborate on internal Sequence design needs including social media graphics, presentation templates, and other promotional materials
  • Join us onsite at events for live assistance on projects!
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite especially Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of G-Suite especially Slides and Sheets
  • Bonus: working knowledge of 3D design and rendering software, SketchUp & Enscape preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MARKETING INTERN MAY INCLUDE:


  • Conduct research for blog outlines, proposals, award history & misc. marketing dept. needs
  • Source images for blogs, socials, proposals, e-blasts, etc.
  • Assists with social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)
  • Design templates for social
  • Track engagement across all platforms and add to social content calendar
  • Engage on social channels (liking, commenting, etc.)
  • General coordination of the marketing department for elements such as:
    • Creating meeting schedule & sending calendar invites
    • Creating and distributing meeting agendas
    • Organization of the server assets

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN MAY INCLUDE:

 

  • Identify prospective new clients
  • Research events and participating companies, speakers + sponsors
  • Create spreadsheets to compile information about new prospective clients for solicitation
  • Investigate on LinkedIn and other social media platforms to identify information mentioned above
  • Sit in on some meetings with new clients to see how the pitch + biz dev life cycle works
  • Assist with tasks, as needed, in support of business proposal creation
  • Note: Proficiency with Mac, Keynote, Excel and Google Suite. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with LinkedIn are not required, but a plus.


RESPONSIBILITIES FOR OPERATIONS INTERN MAY INCLUDE:


  • Assisting with miscellaneous office/facilities tasks (organizing supplies, sorting packages and mail, recycling initiatives, managing snacks and inventory, etc.)
  • Helping plan, prep, set up, and clean up staff events like in-office birthday parties and celebrations, staff meetings, and off-site happy hours
  • Assisting with the creation and editing of freelancer/contractor agreements
  • Manage calendar invites for staff meetings and Ops Team meetings, taking notes and helping with action items as-needed
  • Assist the Operations Teams with ad hoc projects (researching DEI, sustainability, and volunteerism efforts, honing our current systems and project management tools, etc.)
  • Intro to the HR world including people management and recruiting, creating and distributing staff surveys to gather feedback and improve company culture and daily office operations
